Comment: My daughter has been taking lessons at Canopy Oak Trails for over a year. From her first lesson and every one after, she’s been taught safety first and her continuous acquisition of new skills every class is evident even to us parents with no background in horseback riding. Brianna is a wonderful trainer and teacher. If you want your child to learn how to ride horses and have fun at the same time, this is the stable for you! The place is clean, with a friendly atmosphere, and the horses are extremely well taken care of. We highly recommend Canopy Oak Trails!

Comment: We have visited twice now, and both times we had a wonderful experience. Susan is very kind and accommodating, and she provides an especially friendly and welcoming atmosphere for her visitors. This is a very nice facility, with beautiful trails and a lovely arena. It is also a clean, quiet, and peaceful place to be. Her horses seem to be really well mannered and extremely well cared for. I highly recommend her stable to anyone looking for a pleasurable riding experience.

Comment: My family had a wonderful experience with Susan and her staff at Canopy Oaks Trail. As first time riders, they made my two young children feel at ease with their horses and showed them basic etiquette from safety measures to grooming techniques. We then took a ride around the beautiful property. It was a very positive experience!

Comment: Great experience- we got to bond with the horses before riding them . The staff helped 100% with understanding and explaining techniques…I had quite a bit of anxiety & at the end of the day I have a new love and respect for horses . No more fears either . Beautiful location and trails. Ahmazing over all experience .

Comment: This was such an amazing experience. The owner and her staff were amazing! This was my family and my first horse riding experience. Canopy oak trails is where you want to go for an enjoyable horse trail ride. The view was so good. Please do yourself a favor and go experience a horse trail ride with a great nature view, great horses and even greater people.

Muffin was so kind to deal with my inexperience and the many mixed messages I inadvertently sent! Staff helped me pull off a last minute surprise for out of town family visiting for the holidays. Great place, staff and horses ♥️

Comment: If you are looking for a safe, welcoming, and knowledgeable barn to take lessons or ride at- this is the place. Horses are treated with the utmost care, and riders of all backgrounds are welcome. There are opportunities to learn both English or Western, as well as lunging/ groundwork. Boarder horses have eyes on them all the time. Perfect place for those wanting to just love being an equestrian. Oh! and did I mention there are trails on property. Yup, perfect barn.

Comment: I have been on several trail rides with Susan and other riders. Each ride was a great experience. Susan is very attentive to the riders and makes sure everything is just right with both the riders and the horses for an enjoyable ride. Susan matches the horse to the riders riding skills and has taken me and others on some very nice trails. I strongly recommend Canopy Oak Trails for a great riding experience. Although I do not own a horse, I would have no hesitation about boarding a horse there. The facility is clean and the horses are very well taken care of.

Comment: Me, my wife and boys had an amazing time here! Perfect family outing! We learned how to groom and ride the horses. The horses were so calm and gentle perfect for first time riders and kiddies that maybe nervous to ride a horse. Awesome country atmosphere. Susan and the other instructor was so patient, sweet and kind. My boys loved it and havent stopped talking about the horses since! We will definitely be going back soon. Highly recommended!

Comment: I actually had a fantastic time at Canopy Oak Trails today. Even though my older brother didnt have an enjoyable time today riding I most definitely enjoyed myself and I would go back again. I havent ridden in a few years but to tack up a horse from start to finish and grooming I felt more connected and relaxed.

Comment: My 8 yr old daughter takes riding lessons at Canopy Oaks. She is a 3rd generation rider, and we are life long horse & farm owners. Without a doubt, Canopy Oaks takes excellent care of their horses and they are all very kind, safe & well trained. My daughter is learning horsemanship in every lesson, which is often overlooked in other programs. Ill continue to recommend Canopy Oaks to all parents and hopeful riders.

Comment: My daughter has been taking riding lessons weekly for the past two months and I have taken note on what a beautifully run barn this is. The volunteers are fantastic, the trainers are friendly and challenge the kids, and everyone keeps track of who is being ridden so no horse gets overworked. Susan has a knack for matching horses to kids/people and I have never been worried about the safety of my daughter. The trails are beautiful and the owner, Susan, is knowledgeable and friendly. I am looking forward to watching my daughter to from zero horse experience to being in the show arena one day!

Comment: Susan took me on a full circle adventure, teaching me how to groom and care for the horse and create a bond to make my riding experience that much richer. I loved it, she shared so much knowledge and there were beautiful wild deer and the trees above were just stunning. I cried a few times, verklempt. There is so much beauty in this world and I got to see a little slice of it on this trail ride.

Comment: We had a wonderful 8th birthday party for my daughter at Canopy Oak Trails! We brought 8 children with minimal riding experience and Susan and her instructors made sure each child had a safe and fun learning experience. This was the best birthday party ever. Amazing staff and sweet gentle horses. Thank you Canopy Oak Trails for making Jahnavis birthday so special! We cant wait to come back

Comment: I recommend this place 100% the staff was very professional and safety my 3 girls love it ! We call to find out if the was open because covid 19 , we wasnt sure and yes they said yes , but we have to wear our mask 😷 😉 I didnt have any problem with that , it was easy to located the place even am not local and at soon we arrived they helping and show us the place , we have so much fun interesting with the horses and ride the horses the time flue and my kids fell in love with there horse 🐎, very safety place

Comment: Ive known the owner of Canopy Oaks Trails for over 9 years. Susan has a big heart and an open mind and she is as honest and dependable as they come. She genuinely cares for the horses under her care. Shes a knowledgeable naturalist and teacher. She believes in empowering riders young and old and teaches you how to prep you horse, groom it, put the saddle on, climb on, ride and take care of the horse after the ride. If youve always been willing to give riding a try or another chance, Susan will be the encouraging presence you need to make it a wonderful experience. It is a very safe place for you to board your horse if that is what you are looking for. Her summer camps are a blast for the little ones. I encourage you to go discover her property, which I consider to be a natural cathedral of live oaks surrounded by trails winding through old Florida wilderness. This foreigner will be going back to Canopy Oaks Trails every time she goes back to Florida.

Comment: Not a lot of flies, clean, a fun riding camp for kids to go to and anybody could take riding lessons. The owner is nice and kind and not stuck up. She even helped our injured colt who was abused when we had nowhere else to turn. Horses are healthy and sweet. I suggest this place as a fun, educational place for kids to go to riding camp and learn all about horses.

Comment: I havent gone in a while, but now that Im returning to Gainesville I will surely be back. Everyone there is wonderful including the owner, Susan. She makes sure that youre comfortable and the horses are as well. Its a great place to not only take lessons from but she also has an array of horses up for lease, which range from beginner to advanced. I cannot recommend this place enough for anyone who enjoys riding and good company.

Comment: Canopy Oak Trails is a beautiful escape and home to lovable horses and friendly people. I have trained at many stables over the past 15 years and this is by far my favorite! There are many trail options, through forests and open land or along quaint dirt roads. And if youre looking for lessons, the trainer is patient, experienced, and very helpful. I have never encountered a place so peaceful.
