Comment: We went for a 2 hour trail ride and had an amazing time! From the time we arrived at their ranch, we were thrilled. Their horses are beautiful, well-behaved and you could tell they are quite happy at the ranch. Both Tim and Sara were warm and professional from the start, and answered all of our questions and made sure we were set. We felt like we got every dollars worth and cannot wait to go for a swim when it warms up again. Also, Tim is a great photographer!

Comment: My adult daughter and I had the pleasure of riding here. We signed up for the swimming ride but unfortunately there was a tree down on the trail and we were unable to reach the swimming area. The guide was FANTASTIC! Definitely tried their best to move that tree. It was still a beautiful ride and would definitely recommend. I hadnt been on a horse in 20 years and was a bit nervous, but the horses were wonderful! 💜

Comment: My husband and I booked a private trail ride along with the swimming excursion for our ninth anniversary. The owner and trail guides are all very sweet and accommodating, as well as the horses all very laid-back and chill.The trail is very nice and serene with not a single motor sound to be heard. The swimming was amazing in a natural spring and it was very interesting swimming with the horses. Even myself as an experienced equestrian had a blast in the water. It was also very fun and exciting for my husband who is less horse savvy but he had an incredible time and we talk about it often. Also I will add that I absolutely adore that we got to walk, trot and canter. Definitely an all-around horse experience ☺️I also absolutely love how there was a second guide bringing up the rear, who was able to take photos for us the entire time. If you are like me and your groups designated photo taker then you know the frustration of having to miss out on certain aspects to take pictures lol It was very refreshing to be able to fully enjoy everything and still get some wonderful photos of my husband and I. They were even kind enough to send all the photos over to us after.Absolutely worth every penny spent and I eagerly await the next anniversary or event that we can use to go back and take another ride and dip! If youre looking for a no drama relaxed trail ride then definitely book a trip with Makin Trails 🏇

I have never established a relationship with horses but they are so well trained and experienced that I didnt really need to do anything to control them. The baby goats and Maya the dog were extra added benefits. Totally recommend the Makin Tracks crew.

Comment: This has been the second year I have chosen to ride with Makin Tracks for my birthday, and I look forward to returning again next year! The owner is very kind and made the whole process incredibly easy with her timely replies and accommodations for inclement weather. Everyone involved in this family run business is very friendly and they all clearly show the passion and love they have for their animals through their care and knowledge. This place is great for all skill levels too, and as someone with prior experience it is the first place that has given me the option of riding at a pace that suits my skill level. While its slightly off the beaten path, dont let that deter you - it is definitely worth the drive!

Tina, the owner is extremely professional and was a pleasure to do business with. As for the trail ride, we had the best tour guides. Andrea and Dakota were knowledgeable, patient, helpful , resourceful and respectful. They made the experience that much more memorable. We were a group of 6 with a tandem. My father, the eldest at 62 and my youngest, 5 were among us. We ALL had a great time. Really, no complaints here...Well maybe one; WE COULDNT STAY ALL DAY!!! Book the ride. Comment: I wholeheartedly enjoyed the family and team at Makin Tracks. I called around town trying to schedule horseback riding for the same day, and didnt believe I would be able to get an appointment anywhere. Makin Tracks had a couple of spots left for late afternoon and Tina fit us right in to their schedule. Upon arriving, we were happily greeted and led into the stable to meet the horses and feed them treats. The majority of their horses are rescues and you can tell they are treated well and are healthy. They asked us if we could delay our ride for 30 minutes so that the horses werent out in as much heat, to which we all agreed (prettier time of day too). I have a slight fear of horses and at age 25 I had never ridden one before. The staff made me feel at ease before riding and got me a suitable horse based on my lack of experience. The rest of the trail riders were experienced riders, and they were catered to according to their experience. We did the one hour ride (scenic and beautiful), and we wished we had scheduled a longer one! Hoping to go back within the next couple of weeks. Thanks again!

Comment: I went here for the first time with my cousins. The people here was so nice and the trail ride was so fun! I remember when the guy trotted and we saw that and the funny thing is Lexie the horse I was riding trotted a bit too! Great place to come if you are in Ocala and want to ride horses. Just make sure not to come the dirt road way because there are huge puddles of water there and one of them were so deep to the point that we had to drive on the side to get through.

Comment: My family really enjoyed our 2 hour trail ride, Cody & Kiera were awesome trail guides. It was my nieces (age 13, 8, and 5) and nephew (age 9) first time horseback riding and they explained every they needed to know for their first ride (how to steer, how to get the horse to stop, etc…). The kids were scared at first but the horses were gentle and they quickly warmed up to them. They are looking forwarded to riding again in the future. Thank you so much for a fun trail ride!

Comment: Called kind of last minute to plan a surprise trail ride for my spouses birthday . We were planning to be in Fort McCoy and this would have been the perfect ending to a birthday get away. I had a nice talk with the owner on the phone and was able to make reservations easily. We arrived at the farm, met our guide and we were off. The horses were extremely well behaved and gentle. The thing I liked the most was the fact that the ride was catered to your desire. From a novice rider to very experienced, your needs will be met. The two hour ride was perfect and we had a blast. Our trail guide was attentive and friendly. I highly recommend Makin Tracks. Thank you ladies for a lovely afternoon.

They not only do trail rides, but they’re also a horse rescue, and they’re dedicated to the care of their horses. I would highly suggest this place for rides for the whole family!

Comment: My husband and I went on a private ride with Trey. It was AWESOME! If you’re looking for an impromptu/non-scripted ride and an all-around great riding experience, I would highly recommend Makin’ Tracks Trail Rides. It was too cold to swim with the horses, but we had great time walking, trotting, and getting up to a canter! October-November time was perfect weather!

Comment: Great experience for a great price. The guides were professional and knowledgeable and really cared about the group having a great experience. The whole ride was just so relaxing and fun. I will definitely be going again (to visit Kit, the beautiful horse pictured below)! Thanks guys!

Comment: This place is amazing they rescue the horses and they are an amazing family that truly loves the horses! It was so much fun and they were great teaching my son how to ride and handle the horses. I will definitely be back again.

Comment: My boyfriend and i chose makin trails as our very first horseback ride as adults and we made this decision because of their reviews on here. we actually want to thank all of you who made these reviews because we had a more wonderful experience than we couldve imagined. when we first arrived (having had gone the wrong way) we ended up getting my car stuck almost in a ditch. we walked the remaining three quarters of a mile or so to finally greet two southern comforting people who were quick to rescue our vehicle without question and with reassurance that it would be fine. indeed it was fine and the day was saved. we had the most peaceful ride on the most fitting horses on the most beautiful trail. i knew we would love it but corey (our instructor) truly made it the greatest experience. we appreciate all you guys do. you have lifelong customers here. thank you for letting us bond with your horses
