Comment: Peaceful, beautiful place to come and enjoy nature, horses, ponies, donkeys, goats, and some new long horn cattle, and of course the native wildlife. They even have train rides available on specific days. Many people also come there to walk, run, rollerblade, or ride their bikes around the park.

Comment: If you are visiting with your little ones, the pony rides can be a great experience for them. You can purchase as many laps as you want for your kids, and you can split up the laps throughout the day. However, keep in mind that the pony rides are only available from 11 am to 3 pm.

Comment: Loved the big gazebos and bbq, bathrooms were very clean, the only issue was that the gazebo posts had lots of nails and staples, and that the bushes around had lots of garbage. Other than that, we had a great time! Gazebos has running water and electricity. 0ark entrance is 1.5 per person.

Comment: A great park, great pavilions and great field for the horse back riding along with other activities. However the one thing that wasnt up to par was one of the crosswalks over the water to the field near the horses. This area was completely consumed by the environment with the trees being so low and so unmaintained that they were blocking the exit of the bridge and made users have to crouch down completely to get through it. But other than that the park was very clean and spacious and accommodated my parties need.

It’s always about safety for the riders and the horses! I’d give 10 stars if I could!!!❤️

Comment: I didnt use to pay any attention to this park until I found myself with time in my hands due to COVID. Now, I have gotten to know it quite well, and I really appreciate it and , yes, love it. Knowing is loving. I especially like a tree that is unbelievably beautil, as unbelievable is that there is only one of such beauty. I have been monitoring its blossoming this spring. The buds are there, but I did find that this beautiful tree is at a present danger: it is uprooted. It is still alive and blossoming but if something is t done soon, it will die. This pink blossoms tree is in the parking lot in front of the Butterfly World main entrance. Two rows towards the parks entrance. Who do I talk to to save it?I attached here some recent pictures, and about 12 from last year, in full blossom.

There is a little sitting area if you brought your own food or they have a snack bar. They even have a small plant nursery where you can buy the plants that attract butterflies. Comment: I was scheduled to receive my first COVID 19 vaccine @8:45 am at Tradewinds Park on March 2. I arrived at 8:25 and was on my way home by 9:18. The way its set up is a single file in your car from the entrance of the park that takes you to the exit of the park, after receiving the vaccine and being monitored for 15 minutes. Not what I had expected. I hope 2nd dose goes as well too.

Comment: I have been coming to Tradewinds Park for the past few months with my son and we both think its a great park.My son will be 3 years old in 4 months and refuses to even consider wearing a mask so we have been doing a lot of nature based outdoor activity this year. This park is large enough and there are few enough people (weekdays is when we go) that keeping our distance and limiting contact to distantly passing by other people on the path is very easy. There are actually 2 sides to the park. Sample Road splits it so you either turn into the park to the South where there is a disc golf course, some nice paved paths for walking, cycling or my personal favorite: wagon rides... Theres also a playground which is closed and roped off with so much orange fencing and rope that even my headstrong daredevil toddler doesnt try to breach the perimeter. Butterfly World also takes up a small plotbof land in the park, probably why there is such an abundance of butterflies in the surrounding meadows (nothing fancy, just little guys).Im pretty sure the bathrooms are all closed, but we havent reached that magical milestone yet and I would rather give myself a kidney stone than use a public restroom right now, so we havent officially checked that out. The water fountains are definitely covered over with plastic but all the garbage cans seem to be in use and regularly serviced. The North side of the park is where the stables are located and where they do the holiday light drive thru every year. My son was beyond delighted to go on a Christmas Adventure to see the lights one night last week and I have to admit the display is impressive, $20 well spent.Of course had I known how excited hed be to walk up to the displays in the daytime when they arent even lit up, I would have saved the $20. Well, no I wouldnt have, but the fact remains that my son loved going for a walk thru the unlit displays so much that we went twice this week, spending a whole morning walking around a different area each day.Today when we went the entire pasture by the stables was full of horses and ponies, a few dozen Id estimate. While we knew there were stables and a farm here wed never actually checked any of that out so it was a nice little surprise for both of us.Further back there is a general store (closed for COVID) and a small farm that apparently allowed kids to come in and pet the animals pre-COVID with chickens, goats and bulls. My son was over the moon to discover this little farm. He talked to the goats and chickens, he said hello to the mooses which after much debate we agreed had horns not antlers and so they had to be bulls, not mooses. They alsobhad a sign for pony rides, also closed and a closed playground. I cant wait to come back post-COVID when everything reopens. Then theres this little railroad that we actually parked by. The schedules says it only runs one weekend a month, but another sign says open weekends. Either way it was closed today, Friday, and that was great because the walk along the tracks was lovely and easy for my little guy to navigate. One and only drawback...FIREANTS!!!! The hills are everywhere. My son stepped in several until he saw the ants boiling out of the mound. We bring a picinic blanket to lay out for lunch or snacks and we are super careful where we set it.

Comment: $20 per car is the best value in South Florida for such a fun holiday light show. I wish the traffic was better regulated, so that is my only complaint, but review was posted in the days of COVID-19 so I understand. The staff was friendly, and my family and I felt safe when in the park with officers in the area

Comment: I was at this park with my wife and son last weekend and I had a feeling like it was almost abandoned. We did see horses and that was all of it.Pretty much everything else is covered, closed and empty. Also you can notice that it wasnt even maintained last several months.I mean the place is great and has a lot of space, but someones has to do something before it starts falling apart.Hopefully next time we go, it will be different.

Comment: At 625 acres Tradewinds Park has something for everyone. The site was originally a horse farm. The original farm house still stands on the property and you can tour it. The park is so large it spans both sides of Sample Road. The south side of the park contains the immensely popular Butterfly World and the north side has the horse stables, farm, and mini train ride run by Tradewinds & Atlantic Railroad, Inc.On a Saturday afternoon I found myself on a photographic expedition to Butterfly World on the the south side of the park. Admission to Tradewinds Park is $1.50 on weekends and holidays. Butterfly World is a separate admission price and is the largest butterfly park in the world with 20,00 butterflies. Also on this side of the park are large athletic fields. People who would like to celebrate a special occasion will find ample picnic shelters with grills. Further in the back of the park is a nice bike trail and the Cypress Trail boardwalk that crosses over a waterway and takes you into the woods. It is under renovation and hopefully will become a loop. Right by Butterfly World I was delighted to see a bat house where shelter was being provided for these important pollinators. The north side of the park hosts the Holiday Fantasy of Lights every November and December. It is a drive through light display held during the evenings. Check the park schedule because on a few select nights they also allow you to bike through it which is my preferred way of seeing it. On this side you can find the mini train ride run by the Tradewinds & Atlantic railroads. They offer rides on the weekend and their schedule can be found on their website. Opposite the train you will see a field full of beautiful horses. It was quite the treat watching them being let out of the barn into the fields. Horseback riding is offered to the public for $35 an hour. Equine Assisted Therapies offers therapeutic horse encounters for people with disabilities. Also in this side is the McClean Country House which is open for tours. It was the farmhouse the first owners of this land lived in. There is a playground and an educational public farm that offers tours every weekend. The general store offers concessions on the weekend. If all that wasnt enough you can fish here and play disc golf if you provide your own equipment. We are really lucky to have so many great parks in Broward County. They are so varied. I love seeing all kinds of people out enjoying nature on the weekends. Tradewinds Park is another addition i a stellar lineup of wonderful places to enjoy outdoor recreation in Broward County.

I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this place. I will definitely be coming over more often as my son had a blast. The train ride is super cheap and fun. My son could not get enough of the Armtrak train display, everyone is very friendly. I felt like I was not in Florida I loved it! There is a bounce house for the kiddos, a playground, a little farm with animals, pony rides, hose rides, fishing, picnic areas, nature nature nature all over. Comment: Tradewinds is one of my favorite week day parks to go for a long walk after work along the lake. It it always clean and kept immaculate. Its also always fairly busy with disc golfers, walkers, joggers and cyclists, so I never feel nervous about safety. Women exercising on their own know how important that is.The annual Festival of Lights is a yearly Christmas night Tradition for mom and I. They do a great job! You can see lots of hard work goes into it, and there are always new ones to look forward to every year. In 2016 it was $15 per car, and $3 for 3d glasses. Try a slow drive with your car lights off - the lights are way better that way, and you dont shine your lights into the car in front of you and ruin it for them. 😉

Also, every Holiday Season you can enjoy a reasonably priced Festival of Lights with 3-D glasses.

Comment: A past reviewer is dead-on about the bathrooms. They are so clean! My kids love it here and I know I can drop them off in the park, let them play, and get some work done in the parents section near the water part.

Comment: Love it. So much to do. Make sure you time it right to do the petting zoo. Love the mini railroad and ride. You have to pay separate for all the additional things to do there.

Comment: The park is very well maintained. The fishing is very good. Do the fact you can put your boat at 9 AM it is past fish feeding time it is best not to go top water. If you go down to them you have a better chance. Look at my photos to get a better idea.Tight lines🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟Good news as of 11/5/16 l see they are redoing the boat ramps. Another example of well maintained.🐟🐟🐟This Sat was great day on the lake. The morning was slow for fish a few hits. The afternoon was good. Three bass caught on a Texas rig. That is correct took out the spinner rod. Tomorrow back to the fly for bluegill.🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟Change of plans. Met a person who told me about a park at the end of Glades Rd. Instead of going back to Tradewinds l took a look. It was good looking water. It does not have shade areas not great for bass and other fish that like it when the sun is shinning. Gave it a try. Good day was had. It has some issues one that drove me crazy was the growth made tope water or weed less a mustDid not go for bluegill went for bass. Good choice. Day ended with 5 bass, and 1 bullseye snakehead. Forgot to mention used a Texas rig with a bead (it is weed less).🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟

Comment: This park is bisected by a highway. The northern section of the park has neat model trains -both to view and to ride, a petting farm and pioneer home. The southern section has Butterfly world. All of the attractions are worth paying the nominal fee to get into the park. The one thing I would love to see there more trees, but I would recommend all of these gear attractions and commend the park that houses then.

Comment: Theres a playground on both sides of the park (a road divides it) but the southern half is the nicer park since it has newer equipment and is shaded. It is next to butterfly world so sometimes it gets busy. The other side of the park has a really nice farm tour, pony and horse rides, miniature train ride and bounce house which are all low priced. Its a great place to go for the day.

Comment: Tradewinds Park is a gem. It has trails for horses and people, a nice little playground and ample space for parties and gatherings. One of the coolest things about this park is that 1 weekend a month they run a miniature steam train that you can ride. Im not sure who enjoys it more, me or my toddler. For only $1.50 per person you can take a ride on a 1/8 scale steam train that goes around pretty little pond. The park also offers pony rides, a small barnyard, and a bounce house that is also open on that one weekend a month.During the week the park is free to enter. OB weekends there is a nominal fee. I think that it is 1.50 per person (my little kids are free).
