Comment: We had a great time at Westgate River Ranch! The staff is super friendly and helpful. We did airboat, swamp buggy, horse riding, petting zoo, skeet shooting and the Saturday night Rodeo and would recommend to everyone. Great escape from the city! Weve gone for years and this year the food was the best it has ever been. They have raised the bar as everything we ate was delicious.

Comment: Immaculately kept. Beautiful country surroundings with a dude ranch atmosphere. Huge pool that is heated in winter! The staff couldn’t be nicer. Great place to ride bikes. We took a 17 mile ride along the river without ever having to ride on public street. Of course being a dude ranch there’s a rodeo every Saturday, beautiful horses everywhere you look, cattle, a petting zoo, multiple restaurants, lots for children to do and even a stocked fishing pond. We stayed a month and will come back next winter!

Comment: WOW!!!!! What a fabulous mini vacation for my husband and I! We traveled with another couple and each stayed in a teepee for two nights. What a hidden gem this is for Floridians!!!! Although the price seems high at first, if you add up all that is included, its actually very reasonable. We did horseback riding, escape room, fishing, gel tag, trap shooting, mechanical bull riding, rodeo, saloon party, miniture golf, air boat, and petting zoo. I thought the food was exceptional as well. We ate at every available restaurant and even ordered our own steaks to grill. We were not disappointed at all and the food was very yummy. I cant say enough great things! Loved loved loved our stay. Because the location was only two hours from us we could splurge on accommodations because we saved so much in not having to fly or drive somewhere super far away. Oh and we loved taking the golf cart everywhere. I cant forget how super cool the teepee experience was!!! I will be talking about this trip for a long time! Thank you Shey and all the wonderful staff for taking care of us the entire time!!!! Well done!!!!

Comment: We attended their annual car show yesterday. I cannot comment on rooms and service as we did not spend the night.The car show was great, over 500 cars and a free shuttle to and from the parking lot for us old guys.A definite five star event, Ill be there next year.

Comment: We always have a great time at River ranch. We stay in the glamping section and it doesnt matter if we come with other families or just ours. The kids always find other kids nearby to play with and have a great time. Plus there is a lot of stuff to do. Definitely not cheap, but worthwhile. We have been four times now over the years and have had a good experience every time.

Comment: The place is absolutely beautiful. We liked it a lot. It’s “close” to Miami and you get to enjoy the wonders of nature and disconnect from your regular life. They have plenty of activities for you and your family from all ages. You can choose from staying in a room in the hotel, a cottage or a tippie. From glamping to camping. RV facilities (even next to the river). You’ve got it all!The rooms are outdated, but clean (which is very important to me).We had good experience with the service some days and some others not at all. So it really depends on the person who’s attending.All activities aren’t included in your reservation so if you want to do something else (even take your kids to the park) you have to pay additionally for it.They also offer golf carts at your convenience. Take a look around, you’ll definitely enjoy it.I would go back again because I felt peace and happiness from the daily life. My children were away from screens and playing outside.So for that, it was worth it.They have places to eat. One by the river and a couple next to Starbucks (yes, they have a small Starbucks in there too)Personally I think that January, February and March are the best months to visit. I think in summer would be way too hot to enjoy the ranch.

We will be back for sure!From the moment we arrived, the receptionist, Tatyana, took care of us and provided us with excellent customer service. Then the staff from River Ranch Cattle Co. made the exception and took us in after closing so that our kids could eat. Debbie our server went above and beyond, even when we were not seating in her section. Andrew, from the golf cart rental was awesome! The ladies from the general store, and everyone who took care of us during our stay, did an amazing job! My family and I could not be happier with the service we received.Thanks for everything!

Comment: We had a wonderful time celebrating my in laws 50 year wedding anniversary. We stayed in the lodge suites, which are basically a hotel room with a small kitchen and bath. It also has a nice porch with 4 seats. The property is the best feature. Out in the middle of nowhere, open pasture, great activities. We loved the RODEO, it truly is world class. We loved the adventure park, highly recommend spending the money to do with your kids or if they are older, watch. They have pool and ping pong outdoors under a large covered area. There is a saloon for those who like to dance. Great shops and eateries. We enjoyed a meal at the chop house. Bring your own food to save some money. A bag of donuts cost 8 dollars. The staff is all very helpful and super responsive. We had a few issues but they were resolved immediately. ALL AMENITIES are extra unless you buy the full package with glamping. They will try to sell you a time share and ask you to stay for a 90 minute presentation. I suggest skipping, unless you are in the market for a timeshare. The activities we enjoyed also were horseback riding and airboat. WE brough our own boat which was super easy and no extra charge. Spend the money to rent a golf cart or bring your own. We brought bikes too. Great trip and we will definitely go back or visit another Westgate property.The reason I rated the rooms a 3 was for the following: ( we had a total of 3 rooms with our family)Musty odors, older interior. Doors do not shut. Ovens did not all work. Showers are hot for the 1st 2 or 3 people than run warm. Towels were hard to locate. Extra blankets are useless unless you like itchy wool. The A/C smelled funky.

Comment: We went for Thanksgiving break. The grounds have a lot of fun things for kids. My son enjoyed being able to bike, fish, see the animals, and play in the adventure park (especially the climbing wall). The pool was heated and had a hot tub we enjoyed. It was nice to have the general store and little shops. We had a little trouble with getting lunch due to limited staff and it happened to be the only place open that day. We were able to get stuff to make lunch from the general store. I spoke with the food and service manager named Cabot and he more than made up for the inconvenience at dinner. It was very refreshing to have someone care about customer satisfaction and service. We had an excellent server named Debbie who was very attentive and sweet. Overall, we had a wonderful time and next time would just come with snacks in case of any snags in plans. We understand staffing has been problems on many of our recent trips all over the place. It was decorated very nicely for the holidays as well :)

Comment: We had our first family camping experience here at Westgate River Ranch with our 1 y/o son. This review is for anyone considering camping with a toddler. We chose the platform camping which was great. The tent was big enough for a queen size air mattress and his pack & play and a bunch of space to spare. Plenty of activities for us to fill our day with which was great. Other campers were (for the majority) all great. My complaint is the location of the platform camping is so close to the main road going through the property. This was a weekend experience and it seems there is quite a party atmosphere going on which does not seem to be regulated at all. There were people being loud late into the night / early into the morning. Car lights constantly shining into the tent. There was some sort of crash on the road at some point and people hollering. This occurred both nights we spent here. I would say it is not a family friendly camping atmosphere for this reason. Our friends who chose to stay in rooms had similar issues with people coming to and from the saloon bar/restaurant. It was a fun weekend but, we had to endure hardships at night which if I can help anyone be prepared for then the review served its purpose.

Comment: We came to do the haunted hayride. We enjoyed it. The decorations were fantastic and beautiful. Other than the hayride the rest was really for very small kids (and way too many of them). We were going to go to the saloon, but walked out ( majority of the people in there were under the age of 5 , and were let to run wild). It was very nice and staff was very friendly but this is not for adults.

We want to thank Roderick for taking us fishing and exploring the grounds on our first night,Chey for being everywhere at all times and whom we nicknamed “Chey all day”, Cody or as we called him “JC” for the Escape room excitement, Brian our favorite Red Shirt security for the laughs and support as we galloped around the property, Allison for keeping AJ up to speed in the rear of the pack , he’s definitely milking the clock lol, Ben for the thrilling airboat rides over Lilly pads and gator backs, Al for teaching us the ways of trap and Skeet shooting your fist bumps have magic powers, David and Anthony for our final night exploring the petting zoo and the East coral was MAGICAL! Comment: My Mom, Dad, and I, just returned from an October 4th through 8th trip to the Westgate River Ranch resort in Lake Wales. Everyone was very warm and friendly. The folks there waved as they went by on their golf carts. Its 1,700 acres of peace and quiet, all unspoiled Florida. I really enjoyed going horseback riding in the swamp buggy rides. But they have so much to offer including airboat rides, the rodeo, I also love their non-denominational church on the grounds. Its just a very laid-back country western functioning dude ranch. There are horses, cows, bison, and much more. Are also adding on a water park in safari. But theres so many places to choose from as far as places to stay. They are working on renovating their restaurant. But you do have a general store, several gift shops, a deli, and ice cream and coffee shop, in addition to several types of accommodations. We stayed in the railroad car cabin. But there are Conestoga wagons, very low key tents, or the glamor tents, lodges, cabins, teepees and more traditional hotel rooms. They have a hot tub and a pool. You can rent a golf cart as long as you want while youre there. I love the golf cart. They have skeet shooting BB gun shooting all kinds of other activities as well and its a lot of fun.

It’s very homey and customer service is great from the moment your drive in to the moment you drive out. I would recommend renting a golf cart , gets you around pretty easy. Comment: The entire place is beautiful!!! The number of activities available is amazing!!!The hay ride with the BBQ dinner afterward - perfection!!! We got to see the entire property from their new hay ride (they didnt even get the hay in for it yet). Watching the wild herds of bulls and cows was exciting. Listening to the singer sing his version of some great country songs was fun. Having the BBQ dinner afterward in a private outdoor tented area was delicious and so sweet!!!The trap shooting with a guide was the highlight of the trip for the adults. We each were given a 12 or 20 gage shotgun and 25 rounds. We were moved to different areas of the shooting range and had expert advice given to us on how to properly hold the gun, stand, track, and shoot. Austin gave us each a nickname (very appropriate and fun). Our group LOVED it so much that we immediately signed up for another go the next day. AL was our second coach, and he gave us some more great advice along with a really fun experience.The adventure area was fun, but we didnt spend much time there. The petting zoo was not really a petting zoo, but it was great seeing the different animals there at the farm. The pony ride was great for the young kids with us. Each child got to ride around the small ring multiple times (felt like forever to them, in a good way).If you stay in the lodge, be aware that the rodeo and the adventure area get loud at night. If you have young kids, its hard to get them to bed with all the noise... consider staying in the teepee, cabin, sadel club area, or wagons to keep the noise at a more manageable level.Also, we had tiny ants both nights that we stayed at the lodge, and while maintenance came out to spray, its enough of an issue I had to take a star off of my review.Something else to consider.. the main restaurant in the main building is ok. The food is not the greatest, and we all really wanted it to be delicious, but it just wasnt. The prices are high, and the portions were not up to the price we paid. For example, the side of bacon for breakfast was $5 for 2 pieces of bacon. The staff were all wonderful, and we appreciated their hard work to feed so many people at each meal, but it was not something that our group of 20 were happy about.The entire property is very large. We highly recommend renting a golf cart. We were told that if we rented a teepee or wagon, then many activities and a golf cart are all inclusive with the price for the room. The main building has some above and beyond amazing staff. One of the welcome staffers was so over the top extra in the best way with the young kids. He showed them photos of his friend Spiderman with him, and he gave our son a small dinosaur figure as a parting gift.While we did not get to go horseback riding, or fishing at the catch and release pond, or enjoy a few of the shops around the property, we did enjoy the coffee shop and the general store. The pricing was very high for small candles and treats for the kids, but the merchandise for stuffed animals, clothing, and other items were reasonable and they had some great items very appropriate for the style of the ranch.We will 1000% be back to enjoy all the rest this amazing resort has to offer and definitely going to reserve time at the trap shooting in advance to make sure we can enjoy it along with some archery next time as well.

Comment: Our original plans to camp were quickly changed because of the rain. We know with camping it’s all part of the deal but the platform camping area was surrounded in several inches of water and more rain was coming. I think they need to spread gravel rock around the actual tent areas to help with draining. With that said Kynlee (sorry if I got spelling wrong)at registration spoke to manager and had us upgraded to a rail card at a great discount.

Comment: This is a place for family, fun and memories. We have been coming here for years and in the state of Florida it’s one of our favorite things to do. There are horses and animals everywhere. We have stayed in most of the tents, the teepees, and the hotel rooms. We absolutely loved all of them. The food there is great and my favorite part is that they have a Starbucks. There’s also a general store for you to get firewood and anything else you may forget. We didn’t leave the property the whole time, and we even brought my husband shotgun to do skeet shooting. My daughter loves the archery and especially riding the mechanical ball. This is such a fun experience and it’s good all year round.

Additionally, we went to the rodeo on Saturdays and we liked it only that we went to spend the day off from labor day and I feel that the resort needed more entertainment but in general it is a place that I recommend to go with friends or family, equally as a couple you also have a great time

Comment: Very pricey, but the service is outstanding. Be warned, however that doing anything except visiting the kiddie petting zoo (livestock, not zoo) is going to be a hefty extra cost. The saloon is full bar but they didnt have supplies for a white Russian (I could have bought every ingredient at the general store) or a screwdriver. Basically, its a full bar if you drink beer or corn liquor, not so much if you have other tastes.The property map is useless. Everything is not where it is shown on the map.Finally, I was told I had to wear a neon orange wristband, and quickly discovered I was wearing the only such wristband on the premises.

Comment: Im going to leave a 5 star review because we really enjoyed our weekend at the Westgate River Ranch. That being said, I feel that there is some room for improvement.We stayed at the Glamping tents (not Luxury Glamping, which is a separate area). The tent was roomy, the bed was great, and it has an air conditioner. There was a bit of wear and tear in the tent itself and also in the furniture, but it has a microwave and a fridge. You can park you car right outside the tent.As far as activities go, theres a lot of them. We went to the Rodeo on Saturday night and it was awesome. The band at the saloon and the DJ outside were not that good and they failed at rallying the huge crowds that were out there for the Labor Day holiday.The package that we booked included a free bike rental, but when we went to pick it up, we found out that it was a single bike per room and we had to pay $15 for the other one. We ended up renting a golf cart for $75 which was a great decision, because everyone drives around the resort in golf carts and it was so fun.Our rental included a concierge service that was kinda useless because they werent able to book things for us. I asked about getting Rodeo tickets, and they told me to go to the front desk. Then I asked about getting some food delivered and they gave me the phone number of the restaurant. At least I was able to check out by texting them.Now here are the things that I think should be improved:The place seems to be under some heavy renovations at this time (Sept 2023). A lot of things are being moved around. But they didnt update their maps, not even the ones they print for you with todays date at the front desk!They have a mobile app but its next to useless. It has outdated information, and when you try to book an activity it tells you to go to the website. Then you go on the website, and it turns out that you cant book activities there either. You have to go to a lot of different places and sign paper forms in order to book your daily activities.Being part of a huge timeshare resort company, of course they have lawyers up the wazoo. The TP is part of the sand paper family so bring your own. The ribs were very tender, just heavy on the smoke for my taste. The wings were excellent with the Lulu sauce, may be more kick for those who dont like spicy. Speedboat ride was a great start to our Saturday, just wish it would be a little longer. The rodeo was good for the bulls and broncos since they seemed to have the upper hand. Music was good for the line dancing Lindas. Im looking forward to my next visit.

Comment: I was a little apprehensive about visiting after all the bad reviews I read but we found the property, staff and activities wonderful! I dont understand. We went in with zero expectations and were pleasantly surprised by the amazing property, number of activities and friendly staff. I was not expecting the Ritz so I guess, there for happy with our stay. The rodeo was fun. The only disappointing things to us was the quality of food at their only restaurant and the size of the pool for the entire hotel, however I do know they are planning a large expansion with a huge pool and more restaurants. I look forward to visiting again.

The first room we got the refrigerator leaked water and at first they didnt want to move us they just wanted to clean the water up but once there was a spark from the microwave they did. Comment: We stayed in a glamping tent in July when it was crazy hot out. The tent was plenty cold enough and was where we sought refuge from the heat between activities. Saloon was nice. We did line dancing lessons. But note this is a family resort so it was adult only for the last 2 hours of the night. The rodeo was a standard rodeo but not like a true Texas rodeo. Trap shooting was a blast and the instructor was so nice and helpful. We also did the swamp buggy tour which was good. Golf carts are pretty pricey but necessary for easily getting around and exploring the property. Not a lot of food options so we brought all our food and cooked on the grill. Glamping area was gated and the separate bathrooms were nice in the bath house. Only real negative was there was an armadillo digging all around our tent at 2am. Then around 4am there was a raccoon trying to join us in our tent. We did also have a squirrel sneak in and get some crackers. Overall will be back. Had a blast. The lodging options are pretty pricey so be aware. I do think some options are way over priced. Especially when you have to pay for most activities.

Comment: Exceptional customer service! Everyone went above and beyond to make sure your stay was comfortable and memorable. From the moment you walk in to check out, you were treated like royalty. Kenzie, our butler, was remarkable. Katie gave us a great tour during the horseback ride, and the airboat guide pointed out and slowed down enough for us to see two alligators. So exciting! We stayed in Luxury Glamping complete with its own bathroom, golf cart, grill, microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator. Breakfast was delivered on the front porch every morning. There was a stand-up cooler on the porch where bags of ice were delivered everyday as well. Towels were delivered to us within 10 minutes of the text message request. Every evening a member came around to light the campfire. Free smores kits were given to you upon check-in which we used around the campfire. This made for such an amazing girls trip and we cant wait to go back!

Comment: Overall my experience at the resort was positive. I reserved an RV site for 4 nights where my dog and I planned to unwind for a few days. The RV site was perfect! Large enough for my rig in a nice shady spot; a great location to set up my dog playpen; and directly across from the bath house and unfortunatley the skeet shooting. The property was well maintained and while I cant speak for the condition of the accommodations on the inside, they looked very nice from the outside.My husband and 22 year old daughter came to visit Saturday evening to Sunday to attend the rodeo and 4th of July fireworks. Afterwards we enjoyed some live music in the saloon. Band was really good and played some great songs.The experience I had with staff was very positive and everyone was very friendly and helpful. I did however get subjected to the sales pitch of for only 90 minutes of your day, if youll just take a tour of the property and hear what the VIP program has to offer, we can give you a golf cart rental for free! speel. I just paid for the golf cart and skipped the tour. After returning the golf cart, a nice young lady staff member offered me a ride back to my RV spot. Its Florida, its July and it was super hot and muggy.Im a horse girl, have three and was camping in my horse trailer living quarters. The only one there with this type of trailer. But it was a conversation piece and I have all the features of a fancy motorhome or camper. I did not bring my horses as I was told on the reservation line that it was not permitted. So, I took the short horseback ride just to see some more of the property. Dom was very outgoing, but the two young ladies seemed agitated in every way and had no problem showing it. I get it, it was HOT, horses are a lot of work and they are likely underpaid like most. But, its the job you chose and you could have made it a little more entertaining for the group rather than complaining how sick you were and how annoying the riders were being (yes, this was a brief conversation between the two guides). I enjoyed seeing the wild horses for the rodeo, all the new foals and pastures full of horses.Skeet shooting......been 30 years since Ive done this and my daughters first time. The cashier was friendly and had an outgoing personality. The middle aged gentleman who managed us on the range was phenominal. So patient, kind and helpful for two ladies who didnt have much talent. Again, it was H-O-T and he was sweating his you know what off, as we were, but he never let it get to him and just kept smiling.Supposed to be a craft fair and field games happening two of the days, honestly I couldnt find the events either day, so either no participation or locations just not well marked. Would have been nice to be entertained by something for a bit.The restaurant was okay. Service was very slow, but Im guessing short staffed like most, although there werent a lot of patrons at the time we sat down for lunch. We agreed the prices werent too extreme in comparison to other restaurants and the fact that youre locked in to only one restaurant that is open at the resort. Pricing, well for an RV site, it was pricey, but again, my choice and I enjoyed my short stay. Must have a golf cart to get around or be willing to walk long distances. The added expense made my stay even more expensive, but hey, you only live once right!I do agree with some other reviews, the weekend is the time to be there, at least in my opinion, as there are a few more things going on. It was pretty desolate come Monday and Tuesday, but we checked out Tuesday to head back home. My stay was probably about 24 hours too long, but the point of the getaway was to have some decompression time, which is exactly what I did, just me and my dog! I think theres room for some improvements but for the most part, keep doing what youre doing WRR.

Comment: We went here for “Mothers Day weekend” This is a very unique place with a western vibe. We attended the rode which was really fun and entertaining. We stayed in a “Lodge guest room.” The room was decent for 4 people (3 adults and a 9 year old). There were plenty of things to do that were complimentary for owners such as bicycles to use as transportation for the during the day, Archery, petting zoo, and a catch and release pond. Just be alert while at the catch and release pond because there are some alligators that will come up and out of the water if you catch a fish. They are wanting you to give them what you catch.The one thing we did not like about this spot was the fact that most of the restaurants seems to closed during the week with the exception of the general store and the steakhouse. We stayed from “Friday to Tuesday” and there were a couple of times on Monday following Mother’s Day, that the look on some of the staff peoples face was that of “why are yall still here?” LOL. All in All, we had a great time. Not sure if we would return. We recommend that anyone who goes, to make sure to stop by a store and get a little grocery to stock your room with plenty of snacks, water, and juice.

Comment: My friends and made a day trip to have dinner and watch the rodeo this past Saturday night. Such a great time!! We got there early and had a couple of drinks at the Saloon, where everyone was super nice. While having our drinks it began to downpour rain and we were going to be late for our reservations. Enter Danielle for the rescue!! She said she would take care of it for us. Little did we know she draped herself in a trash bag and ran to the lodge to push our reservation a bit, giving time for the rain to pass and for us to stay dry. Its rare to have that kind of customer service these days and we truly appreciated it!! Dinner was fantastic, amazing steaks, and the rodeo was so much fun! Well be back and may just stay over next time!

Comment: Overall, our family really.enjoyed Westgate River Ranch. We booked a primitive campsite at the last minute for Memorial Day weekend. Check in was easy and the staff was very friendly. The primative area was clean and had lots of room. Only complaint about the primative area was with allowing other campers to continue to play loud music after 11 PM. Bathrooms/bath house was clean and had plenty of showers. We had a lot of fun at the rodeo. It was nice that registered guests got a discount on the rodeo (and other event/activity) tickets. The event was very family friendly and suitable for all ages. Could have maybe used an extra window open at the concession area as there was quite the line before the show started. Recommendation for others is to get to the show early to get seats and food and drinks. Cattle Company bar and restaurant had good food and service. Only complaint there was that channels to watch sports were limited so they may not be able to show the big sporting event that day. We wanted to watch an NBA playoff game and their Direct TV channels couldnt get TNT. Finally, it would be wise to bring a lot of your own food. Food options were limited and had long lines or long waits. We tried to get food from the General Store a couple times and it was going to be a 30-45 min. wait for takeout. Pizza by the slice stand was closed on our first night (Saturday night). The pizza stand was open the next day but could do cash only. Coffee and ice cream shop had a super long line so we didnt even go inside. The General Store does offer the ability to order ahead so that is an option that we will have to try the next time. The Smokehouse was closed so we dont know anything about it.We will be back in the future and will be better prepared for our visit. Its definitely worth a visit as it offers good family fun and is very reasonably priced.

Various ages were at the resort you can see all guests looked so happy having a great time. From the professionalism , cleanliness, amazingly fresh food, and service of the resort. I would highly recommend staying here. With the help of Dom at the stables and horseback riding, to Shay with hospitality, to Al at the range and the countless staff that went above and beyond helped make the weekend special. We stayed at a glam tepee it was so spacious and really comfortable.Also the rodeo was so professional and what a great show for us spectators. What a great event and dancing in the saloon gave us a fun evening on Saturday night. You can be busy all day or do just a few things. I rate this 5 stars. You wont be sorry.

Comment: I have read several of the reviews and almost didnt book a stay here based on some of the comments. However, I have learned there are a lot of people that need a lot of attention so reviews are sometimes difficult to interpret. If you book a stay here and are looking for some five star treatment then you are going to be disappointed. However, if you dont need constant pampering and have an open mind you will enjoy your stay here. First off, the staff was amazing. I was very impressed on how pleasant they were to interact with and they all went out of their way to help you out with any questions. We went on the trail ride and our guide was Katie. She has been there for a while and had a good knowledge of the horses and their behaviors. She ensured that the horses all kept up and informed you about the various personalities of each horse so you understood how to handle them properly and have an enjoyable ride. Shout out to Katie for a great job. Second, we also did the trap shoot. I personally was in the Marine Corps and understand how to handle a firearm properly. However, those who were with me did not have as much experience. You have your choice of shotgun. Either a 20 gauge or 12 gauge option and the PMI there was amazing. We had Al showing us the ropes with this event and I couldnt have been more pleased. First of all, AL is also a Marine (Semper Fi). Aside from that he is a very patient and well informed instructor. He will help you enjoy this experience even if you have never fired a shotgun before. He is very professional but not arrogant which I have experienced in similar situations at other venues. He definitely helps you relax and goes over the fundamentals of shooting to allow you to hit the target if you trust in him. Now for the negatives. If you have children with you under the age of 21 but what to experience some of the night action. You will need to bring a sitter. On Fridays kids are booted at 10pm and 9pm on Saturday after the rodeo. I do not disagree with this because it can get a bit rowdy at a saloon. However, if you are looking for a spot that allows you to have a couple of drinks and your teenager is with you there are no other options. They do have a DJ outside of the saloon until roughly 9:30pm but after that you are on your own. Granted if you have small children then this probably isnt a bad thing for you. However, if you have an older teenager that stays up later then you already then this is a bit of a disappointment. I think they should keep the DJ going a bit later outside but thats based on my personal situation so gauge it based on your actual wants / needs. The guests in golf carts do not observe the rules of the road so always be alert. I had a lodge deluxe suite which was beautiful. Smelled of old wood and had a nice patio for early morning coffee time. No complaints there. The rodeo was very entertaining and the staff was great to interact with. Even the Sheriffs Deputy that hangs out in front of the saloon was super friendly and helped with info about the resort. Note, the activities are cheaper for guests at the resort so if you book them before arrival be sure to notify the folks that you are a guest and they will give you a rebate. In the off season I dont think pre booking is necessary but if you do then be sure to let them know you are a guest to get the cheaper rate. Hands down one of my new go to spots for R&R and some country get away. Love this place. Hope you do too.

Comment: We had a wonderful experience glamping!!Celebrated Mother’s Day with daughter, sister and niece. Great place for families who enjoy camping. Lotsa of activities to do on property. Disappointed we couldn’t do camp fires because of dry weather but that wasn’t the fault of the resort. We did s’mores on the grill! The old country village was a hit. We rode horses, did archery, played horseshoes. The rodeo was the highlight. Be sure to get VIP seats for the best view. I’ll return with my grandchildren next time.

Comment: Ok So this past weekend we went camping and Decided to stay here at westgate river ranch and do real camping where you pitch a tent, bring a grill and sleeping bags and sleep under the stars not the platform tents with Electricity (although honestly it wouldnt have been a bad idea. We did a 2 night 3 day stay and the ranch resort was beautiful, the campsite provided bathrooms with Showers in them that was a plus, the down side was that the curtain was not long enough so it would drip water on the floor and fill the area in front of the shower making it very slippery for you when you come out and the next person as well because people bring dirt from outside and then it creates mud in the showers. I slipped on my last day there trying to help my child get into the shower and I had shoes on so be careful, I think it would be better if they can at least get longer shower curtains or drop the curtain rod a good 4 inches. Also if someone can come and service that bathroom at least 3-4x throughout the 24hr period so 1x every 6-8 hours I think the bathrooms can remain clean enough because some guest are down right disgusting leaving beer bottles, sand, dirt and everything inside one of the showers. Aside from that the people at the service desk were nice upon arrival, when I checked in they opened doors and the staff was helpful. I only had 1 meh encounter with a staff member at the service desk the day after I arrived when I went to inquire about breakfast options and was interrupted by this older man and she stopped attending me without momentarily excusing herself and very enthusiastically told him all the breakfast options and when she came back to me it was a serious face again and when I asked her about the options I got a well we serve breakfast at so and so restaurant but not many options honestly made me feel like if I wasnt white male with blue eyes blond hair I wasnt worth the same enthusiasm ...I asked about golfcarts as well and was placed on a list but never called. Besides that encounter everyone else at the resort was kind and very nice. The petting farm was a little weak because the animals we all lounging. We went to the Rodeo on Saturday night it was my very first rodeo, it was awesome I loved it surprisedly. All in all I would come again and definitely do the camping and rodeo experience again.

The petting farm is very nice (learned llamas are from North America). The bartender at the main restaurant was great and made us some pretty cool drinks. We really enjoyed the rodeo but get there early (we did) for good seats. Our shooting teacher was super nice and helpful as it was our first time and had no idea what we were doing. Comment: We came with friends first week in Feb 2023. Stayed at the Glamping tents. The highlight for me is the private bonfire around the tents, talking, grilling and sharing this with friends. The glamping comes with concierge service which is very useful to answer questions and make requests via texts. They are very fast in responding. Breakfast is delivered every morning, coffee, cinnamon buns and some type of fritter (inedible). We did Archery, airboat ride, rodeo, mechanical bull, line dancing, petting zoo, horse back riding. I recommend renting golf carts to move around the property. The kids had a blast.I took a star because I do not think the animals at the petting zoo are well taken care of. One horse had an open wound, they do not seem to be bathed or brushed, bony, etc. For the prices that they charge to stay here, they should be taking care of the animals much better.

Comment: I really enjoyed my time here; we did have a little room problem at the beginning, but they were able to fix that. The amenities were great, it was my first time attending a rodeo and I loved it. They have this wonderful bike trial that my family went on. Two of our bikes did have a problem, one of the chains kept coming off and then the other had a flat tire. But it was still an enjoyable experience. We also went fishing and My brother and I each got one, on top of that we saw a baby gator that came pretty close before leaving and a deer. It was a really calm and peaceful trip; you connect with nature a little while your there.

Comment: Excellent Resort and service there’s so much to do for everyone. Can’t miss the rodeo.So much that my battery died and I couldn’t take anymore pictures and videos. But this Place is worth every penny. Multiple days needed for all activities.

Comment: Great family place. Rodeo was awesome. They need more dining facilities and main dining room said reservations at open table. Did not mention reservations were nessary and they took no walk ins and the bbq restaurant we had already eaten at the night before. Settled on pizza from general store. Also no food available at the saloon.

Comment: Good coffee, pretty good pizza, reasonable grocery store for a resupply. Prices were about what you would expect, and they sorta go overboard on the whole cowboy thing, but I guess thats to be expected. Everyone was friendly and helpful.

Comment: We ate dinner at the Cattle Company. The restaurant was more than half empty and was told we needed a reservation because it was busy. Having none, we were told we could sit at the bar and have full service. At least 12 tables remained empty the entire time we were there. We were told later the kitchen could not keep up so they had to start closing down tables. The food was very pricey; the quality did not match the price but the portions did. Drinks were very pricey.We continued to The Saloon because the band playing is a band local to Polk County that we follow. Very crowded, lots of people, no table service and the lines were long to get service at the bar. But all in all everyone seemed to have a good time.

Comment: Beautiful place to visit, common areas were well maintained and very relaxing environment. The Deluxe cabins were a bit on the outdated side, but it made up in charm of other areas. The staff very friendly, BUT,big but... they were EXTREMELY short staffed. Restaurants were at 10% capacity if that and waits still were 1-2h long for reservations. It was our first time and we were dependent on the food on site ( very good food ) mind you, next visit we would plan for meals instead of on site food. Entertainment was great, but make sure you schedule way ahead of time. Having very long wait times for meals, made it very hard to schedule activities ahead of time. Rodeo was amazing and fireworks were extremely well done. Overall a good experience, kids had a amazing time, could have been made excellent by having more staff assistance at restaurants and bars.

Comment: Nice place with lots to do, especially for the kids. They are expanding and have plans to build a water park. Overall, it was a good experience. We paid for the upgraded luxury glamping. Essentially, its glamping with a bathroom in the tent. The only issue was maintenance related. Every time I tried to make coffee, the breaker for all the outlets would trip. Maintenance did not seem to have any answers.

Comment: This place is so much fun to go in a group. We went with a huge group and laughed a lot.The only problem is the weather. If you have bad weather, then you’re bound to be inside your tent or your camping area. So if that’s the case, I highly suggest you stay in a rail/saddle car or one of the cottages that they have the Glamping tents make for a messy and wild time. If you’re into that then you’re gonna love it as well. There’s so much to do there there’s activities roasting marshmallows, hanging out with your friends and family. There’s tours and rodeos and petting zoos I can go on and on the place is awesome. We definitely will be back. Unfortunately we got bad weather so it was a difficult time for some people but luckily we stayed in the rail cars and had a bathroom to ourselves and an area to stay dry. We will definitely be back soon and excited to do so.

Comment: This place is amazing. It was my husbands and I first time at any Ranch. The food was great, The staff was the best and the activities were awesome. I recommend this place to everyone, especially family. I do suggest that you rent a golf cart to move around and please go visit Corky at the Western Store. Shes the best.

Comment: Had a good time. Only 4 stars because it was a bit out of our style (meaning the rooms) but someone else may love it. We stayed in a deluxe room. The cottages and teepees may have been cooler. We went with a group so we arent members. The rodeo gets 5 stars though. This was our first. I was surprised at how enthusiastic we became in cheering. 😆 The fire pit and dance party were awesome as well.

Comment: Amazing stay! We stayed in luxury glamping cabin and it was so cute and AC worked fantastically. Loved the hammock golf cart and picnic table and grill. Fire pits were great as well and the s’mores kit. Can’t wait to come back!

Comment: We had the most fantastic two days here. We’re a family of six and stayed in the wagon. It was beautiful and spotless. The concierge were wonderful and so friendly. All the staff were lovely and so helpful.We did so many fun activities that will give us such special memories for a life time.The rodeo was amazing and line dancing afterwards so fun. We ended our night toasting marshmallows by camp fire.It was the most perfect two days. Thank you Westgate ranch.

Comment: My husband and I and our four kids stayed here for a summer vacation in our RV and it was great! The staff went above and beyond when we needed anything, even when we needed a ride so the little ones didn’t have to ride their scooters or walk. The store had almost everything you could need including fresh made pizza, hot foods, and pre made sandwiches. The rodeo was a blast and the saloon was our favorite place to learn line dancing and grab a cold beer. Everything was super close. Our kids are 8, 5, 3, and 1 years old. We brought bikes and scooters and it was perfect for getting around. On a hot day you can go to the pool and there is a lot of shade in the RV campsites. We were at site 16 and it was shaded at al times. We will definitely be back.

Comment: Very impressed with this beautiful RV Resort. What a hidden gem. This was our maiden voyage with our RV. We visited during the week which worked out perfect for this trip. We had a great RV site #2 under a tree. The property is very well maintained. For young families the activities are endless. For us elders, lots to do also. We brought our electric bikes. Lots of places to ride. Beautiful scenery. Very nice Chophouse on premises too!

We were treated well and the food was great. The games/options for fun was super and there were plenty of cool animals to visit. The swamp buggies were cool and the fishing was good too!

Comment: We have stayed at River Ranch several times and we have always had a good experience. There is so much to do that everyone stays entertained. Even when we were not involved in an activity, the atmosphere is so pleasant there that we enjoyed just sitting around the campfire and watching the kids play. The people there are very friendly and helpful. The local store where you can pick up your Starbucks and any groceries you may need stays pretty busy. The staff there maintained a very pleasant attitude even when they had a line of people. The rodeo is very fun and unique. We enjoyed the horseback riding, swamp buggy ride, petting zoo, skeet shooting, and archery. We will definitely go back.
